I saw an older looking Klr or so I think it is, but it was kick started. which got me to thinking that there has to be a version with a kicker? Anyone know?
thanks
Yep, like was said above it was on the KLR 600's. The parts lists show the kickstarter as an option you could by and add on to your KLR 650. I think that was discontinued years ago. I put a kickstarter on my 89 650 for under $200 using KLR 600 parts found on Ebay. Later model KLR's need more parts to get the job done, possibly including the old style clutch basket. If the case on your KLR is a solid casting where the kick lever shaft would stick out, you would need an older style side cover. Those had a plug that pops out and a shaft seal replaces it.-Tom.
I needed a kick starter on my FZ6 the other day.. Forgot to shut my heated grips off when I went into work.. Had enough juice to run the fuel pump but the starter just clicked..
Didn't take much of a bump start to get it going, luckily.
