mixers

Hey girls, just thought I would put in a little word on stand mixers---When my grandmother passed on I inherited her kitchenaid mixer that took two beaters and the bowl turned. I really like it and used it alot. Eventually I burned it up and had to go get a new one. I got the basic $100.00 one at Wal-mart. It's a nice mixer but doesn't compare to the old one-on the new ones the bowl locks on and your mixer goes around-HA-never really get to the sides and you have to raise the mixer outta what you are mixin to add anything and to scrape the sides down. Correct me if I 'm wrong but I don't think there is any difference as far as bowl and beater configuration even if you buy the pricey kitchenaids that come in all colors with more power.I got it about 5 years ago and haven't been totally happy with it since I got it--my mom complains about hers too-same complaints--I use mine probably twice a week or more. I even talked to a guy the other day about recipes that has one too-same complaints--he said not to even bother to get the plastic thing that goes around the rim with the chute built in to add ingredients--he says it doesn't work either--always jiggling the mixer to get it all to go down the chute-----SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-the kids got me a new SUNBEAM stand mixer for christmas-RED--to match my bike  ---2-yes 2- sizes of bowls and the bowls turn instead of the beaters and it comes with two beaters instead of one like the old kitchenaid and has dough hooks also. The beaters are positioned on the side of the bowl so you can add ingredients and I could scrape the sides with beaters in it. So far, I've used it once and I am impressed. I haven't checked the motor sizes on each mixer so I don't know how it will handle over time being used alot. Including a pic and thought maybe you girls that like to cook might like the info before you put the money into something like this. They run about the same price --$100.000 range.

Have a good one--Kay

NEW TECH DAY TOY.

Kay, would you let Mike bring that new new machine to an upcoming tech. day? We need to tear that thing apart and check it out. There has to be a way we can farkle it to get more speed and power out of it. And maybe some new decals for it, something like "The ultimate chocolate mud buster?'

OK --here we go again---Mike can bring it-- right ?? Do you think we girls don't know how to turn a wrench??? Don't know what a deep well socket is??? EEEWWWW-what's a spanner wrench??? ops: :c0001 ops: :c0002 Well---we girls can bring it!!!!!!!! Can you guys deal with it when we do???????   I do like the idea of more power though! Maybe jazz it up to sound like a small jet engine taking off as I turn up the speed on it. May have to add a bowl deflector ring in case it throws stuff at that speed. Add farkles such as a timer right on the side of it for when it says mix 2 minutes etc. A spatula holder would be nice too so you wouldn't have to lay it on the table beside it and leave a mess. :c00101
Oh noooooooooooooo -falling into their trap again--get out Kay---now----------------------------------
And no--Mike is not bringing it to a tech day--------------------------------------------------------------
geez --almost lost it there--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------why do they do this--------------------------------------------got------to----------compose----------- myself.

And I thought this was the only kind of mixer.

Just throw all the stuff in and turn it on. It will mix a BIG cake in no time.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
