Might I suggest that you could use a KLR650 "A" series cable, 54001-1207. Yes, it will be a little longer.
So you might also consider disposing of the plastic cable clip and installing a KLX400 / DRZ400 cable guide 13070-S022 or similar. This guide will allow the cable to 'travel', instead of being kinked sharply when the suspension is compressed. Which allows longer cable life. I use this guide on my "A" series.
