Upgraded Gen 1 Brake Caliper [front]

I had ordered off of Ebay a front SV650 caliper so that I could upgrade my brakes to the 320mm variety.

...however, as a new KLR owner... of a Gen 2, I didn't realize that I already had dual-pistons on my bike.

So now I own a caliper for a mod that doesn't apply to my bike.

FOR SALE: front SV650 dual-piston caliper

$50 or B.O.

Highly recommended upgrade for the Gen1......on a Gen2, I'd just keep the stock caliper and add the 320mm rotor kit but the SV one is still better than the stock Gen2 caliper/pad with something like 50% more surface area and a shape better suited to the 320mm rotor.

Really, I guess I didn't fully understand the configuration.

So just to clarify, for my Gen2, there is a benefit in using the SV650 caliper with larger 320mm rotor over the stock caliper?

Yes but probably not enough to bother switching it and Eaglemike no longer makes a Gen2 to SV adaptor like he does for the Gen1......If you wanted the best brakes available, the SV caliper and a custom caliper adaptor would improve your braking over the stock caliper and 320mm rotor....but as I said, probably not enough to bother with.
