Could I ask a couple klr questions, please.
1, what is the proper way to set the doo, and I do my oil at 3,000, so how often to set it, as I have only touched it once.
2, what is the proper way to adjust it, as I may have not done it the right way.
3, I have the eagle mike kit with torsion spring, but do I really need it on a 2018 with 7,000 miles on it?
4, the bike starts, runs and idles great. Is the 22 cent or the klx kit really worth it? The bike does everything I need it to do.

Sorry to have to PM ya, but a search for me on theis questions brings up nothing.

Thanks. I have a Clymer manual and it has a great color diagram. I am not good at motor diagrams and stuff. Im great at trouble shooting and fixing AC primary and secondary voltage. The manual sais the starter relay has same ground wire going to it that I grounded, it might explain why it brings dying bike back to life when hitting starter, but don't know what problem is. I made a better jumper for the kickstand safety bypass, so ill try it again. The neutral light is good, so I did fry the neutral switch. I ordered a new one.

from lineman1234, still have problems with my 2018 bike. I have retraced my steps it started when bike died on road, wile waiting to be picked up I took things apart to check. I as stated, found black wire with yellow stripe, broken because I put seat on it by accident. I didn't think nothing of the wire because it went to ground. If I would have just put it back together it would have worked perfect and I wouldn't have created my problems. I used the broken wire that I thought nothing of to check to see if the batt was dead. Batt was fine, I touched that wire to positive side a couple times. ( sending voltage down the line, that's what caused all my problems, so far I damaged the neutral switch or blew the bulb, and did something that the kickstand and clutch safeties needed to be jumped out. BUT, bike dies on road and hitting starter brings it to life. Did I fry that wire and or stuff it goes to???

Hello pdwestman, did you figure out what happened to the post-count for the: " What You Always Wanted To Know About KLR650 Coolant Temperature (But Were Afraid To Ask!)" post.

I suspect that Tom has locked this post, which appears to be his prerogative. But not announcing this for all to see is a bit thoughtless in my mind.

pdwestman, I'm still here still working on the '03 KLR. Bike won't idle . Rebuilt carb and put it back together. Not sure what I should try next.
