Maryland Riders

Just picked up a 2010 KLR650 with 500 miles and looking for some local people to ride with. Went to bikes on the beach last weekend 165 mile ride each way. Bike is awesome but wiggles like crazy above 65 mph.

Where do you live in Maryland? I'm in Newark (actually Bear) Delaware.
P.S. Have you checked your headstock and axle bearings?

No but it just went thru inspection and has 500 miles on it. Feels like wind pushing me back and forth real fast. Baltimore md.

Just bought mine and live in Salisbury. I do road trips on the weekends. Deal Isl., Oxford and St Michael so far. Looking for some dirt.

I'm in Bel Air - looking for knowledgeable KLR person to learn from. At higher speeds, I too feel the wiggles

Great find for your bike, wow low mileage! I moved to the KLR from a sportbike, and I find that the high and wide handlebars will swing and wiggle easier than the tiny countersteer motions I used on my clip ons for the sport bike, It is a process for me getting used to smooth motions without wiggles. (In fact, if I loosen my grip a little I find it wiggles less!) I'm in central PA, but get down to MD every once in a while so will look out for rides and events here.

The front fender seems to be the big wiggle initiator. A fork brace should help as well. There is a fender brace available but some trim or replace the fender.

I'm moving to Annapolis here in a few weeks. I ride all the time and I'm looking to get some miles on my bike while I'm stationed up there. I've had my KLR since May of 16 and do almost all of my own work on it. I'm down for some rides to explore the area.
