I hear 'ya. Plus we've got so much stuff going on it will probably be June until I can contemplate even a day-long trip. Until then, riding to work and short backroad trips on one of my days off.

Jack - Feel free to make a post about your new mods or just PM me if you don't wanna make a post.

I don't recall if I ever posted this video or not. Its from when I took a new DS rider out on his first DS ride. We took off and rode deep down into the Flint Hills. It's pretty awesome riding down there. The first time I was ever riding down there I remember my hair was standing on end. It was an eerie feeling riding out there all alone.

Savage, I watched your video while eating lunch at work. I would definitely block off a weekend for rides across the grange. Just give mange a week or two notice and you can count me in.
What did you use for a video source? I have a Garmin Zumo and I think it can manage video as well as GPS, music and Bluetooth.

My smart phone isn't. "Just give mange" should be "Just give me"
By the way, this cold sucks.

Viper,
I love to ride and would travel to ride for a day or two. If you are every headed towards the northeast, just shout and I will head southwest and meet you half way. It might be fun to ride the Grange between Hutch and Emporia.

Hello NE Kansas Riders! Memorial Weekend is upon us. A three day weekend is perfect for working on the KLR and then taking it for a ride...if the rains subside! So this weekend I will finish getting the Michelin Anakee III's on, change to an oversized front brake rotor and adding a stainless steel brake line. Of course with new tires come new tubes, rim strips and balancing the finished wheels and tires.
With the oversized rotor, comes new brake pads, changing the brake fluid. While I am doing the front brakes, I might as well change out the rear brake fluid too! That is my great plan for Saturday.

As for Sunday, a shake down ride to see if I got it all back together. I expect a little adjustment here and there, but nothing major. I fully expect to get caught in the rain and test the Anakee III's on wet pavement.

Monday morning will be a ride from Kansas City, Missouri to Fort Scott, Kansas. The City of Fort Scott and their local VFW do an excellent job on their Memorial Presentation at the Fort Scott National Cemetery. Last year I was very pleased to see all the family members of all the veterans attending the 10:30 AM service. Truly a moving experience for me, so I will return again this year.

So to you and every veteran I hope you have a great weekend. I am so thankful and proud of all the men and women who have served our country and provided me with so much!
