It may not be the mountains, but we have plenty of level B maintenance roads to keep you entertained. So, just where are all the Iowa KLR riders?

OK, but NW doesn't count, much too close to S.D.

We need to have a gathering of the clan. Fall would be great, less bugs and humidity etc. In a pinch, I could host a gathering. Facilities would be very very basic, read "dry camping" plus just a bit more. Even you "northern cousins" would be welcome.

What say you???

May I suggest the Emerald Isle in Imogene. Seems to be neutral ground for a few bike groups around there.
I stopped in there last year when I was on a trip, and they even have a camp ground just down the street.

I'd drop in, but that first 2,200 miles would be a chore every month.

For nearly 70 years I've been of the opinion that nothing good ever came out of California. I stand corrected. After due diligence, I find that to be an outstanding idea.
Should you proposal be approved by the committee (me) we would be most honored to have you as the guest of honor. If the trip is too much for you, hop a big bird and wing your way to "fly over" country. I'll even provide you with one of my bikes to ride. (won't be a KLR).

Next time you find yourself passing through, stop and say howdy. And seriously, thanks for the tip.

Well now I have another reason to go back! Thanks!
My mom's family is from that area and I went back to see the old family farm last year. My Great Grandparents, and Great, great Grandparents are up on the hill outside Imogene.

And if you do meet up there, tell Kevin (the owner) that the crazy firefighter from Kalifornia sent you. My third cousin lived there in the third house on the right up the hill. Kevin pointed it out to me.

(And I'm a transplant, really from Idaho)

Ideehoe, don't they grow corn there?

You are most welcome any time.

I don't do fires, I do, or did guns clubs and knives, but not fires.
