Ride Suggestions for Eastern Missouri area

Very new to Dual Sport riding. I am looking for suggested areas, trails, state parks that folks have found enjoyable. I am familiar with St. Joe State Park near Farmington, a park dedicated to off road enthusiasts. Looking for other suggestions to explore. Ideas for southwest Illinois would be great also. Thx.

You can't go wrong with riding along the Mississippi River basin..

Ride Suggestions

Paper:
Thanks for your suggestion. You are certainly correct, then entire length of the Mississippi is very scenic riding. I am a long time road rider, and fairly familier with many of the good touring routes. I am trying to become more familiar with back road/off road rides that the KLR will allow me to do. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

If you wander up into Iowa, check out the "Level B" roads.. They're not maintained and can lead to some pretty cool riding.. Most are nothing more than tractor roads through farms, but are legal roadways.. And then there's the tons of gravel roads in IL/MO/IA/WI/MN...

Several of us are riding Glacial Lakes MC's Grand Tour, which is all summer long... http://www.glmc.org/grand-tour.html

Perfect reason to go wander the countryside, finding those tiny towns that end in Berg and Ton and finding some pretty cool roads while doing so..
