Old Story, New Twist
We've all had this happen to us or have heard the story. You know the one, a vehicle encroaches on our right of way as though we were invisible. For me today it was where two lanes merge into one lane with the the right lane merging into the left lane. The informal protocol on this piece of roadway is to stagger and let every other vehicle from the left and right lane through.
So today I'm in the left lane leaving room for the vehicle in the right to cross ahead of me when another vehicle on the right pulls up beside me and starts to edge over toward me as he overtakes. As his rear wheel comes even with my front, I back off and hit the horn. Was I upset? Yes!
Typical you say? Yes, except today I'm in a car and the offender is on a bike. I found myself reacting as you might imagine most car drivers would when cut off by a "smart alack motorcycle hoodlum". Weird experience.
So to the rider of the bike wearing NH tag K4992 on Rte 120 S today, you're not doing the other riders in the State any favors.
