Potential Tire Issue

I noticed tonight a cut/slice on my rear tire. I just put the tires on in September and don't have that many miles on it. Heck the tires still have the little knobs on some spots. I'm wondering if this is a safety issue. I've only taken them off road once, the rest has been on street. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to post my pictures but it won't let me...they're in my album....

Is the slice in the sidewall or the tread? I'd replace it either way. Tires are important.

Just saw the pic. I wouldn't ride that tire a block. My .02. Rubber's cheap enough.

Been awhile since I've been on, but wanted to update. After the local bike shop spoke with whoever they got the tire from, they replaced it free under warranty. Can't argue with that.
