Unhappy 90 days for bad landing

Hello All!
I had a small fall 2 weeks ago. Well, I was on the pegs and went over the handbars and broke my collar bone in 3 places and my shoulder to boot! I was looking forward to some adventure riding and camping this summer, but I guess I will have to wait for fall to ride.
I glance through the threads and realize how much I miss the KLR and riding. This past two weeks has been torture sitting around icing my injuries every hour.
The internal bleeding finally quit and the dark red is finally turning to a dusty yellow as the old blood is reabsorbed back into the body.
I purchased a GoPro for the summer, but I guess it is fine in the box.
For each and everyone of you, I wish safe travels for you all.

Just missed making a triple and stuck the front wheel into the upside of the last bump-d-bump. At 62 yrs you would think I would just ride streets, but I keep thinking I am younger than I really am.
To everyone, I was so fortunate to be riding with a friend. NEVER ride trails and MX tracks alone...just in case of an accident. I don't remember anything after the forks bottomed out. The next real focus was me calling Cindy to meet me at the hospital.
Yes, concussion!
For all MSF people...I had All the Gear on. Fullcoverage helmet, armored jacked, jeans, riding boots and armored gloves. It is just that I don't bounce well any more.

I wish you all a safe and enjoyable summer!

Ouch! That does sound painful!
Hoping that you mend well and quickly.

I think the bouncing thing stops in our mid thirties, after that we land with crunches instead!

I broke my collar bone flat tracking about 25 years ago, went high-side. I still can remember the pain.... IT SUCKED!!!

Wondered the same; attempting a triple on a KLR650? Ambitious initiative!

Regardless, best wishes for your speedy and complete recovery, Jack Moorhead, looking forward to some worthwhile GoPro video clips!

Hahahaha!! I also like the "I had a small fall 2 weeks ago." I'm thinking parking lot tipover or slow lowside on a dirt trail....Not coming up short on a SET OF TRIPLES!!!

Yes, I was on the KLR. I admit, especially since everyone reminds me I am older that I think I am, I was more confident than I was skilled. I made a double with ease and thought I could open it wide open on the second attempt and make the triple. Even though the bike performed without any engine miss, I didn't have enough to make it.
In retrospect, I wish I would have acted more my age, (62), and tried to remain within my abilities.
Once this heals, I expect my challenges will be limited to commutes and adventure ridings. Hopefully the TransAmericanTrail in a year or two.
Thanks for all the notes! You all rock!

Years ago while racing motocross (in the previous century actually) I watched a fellow racer case the last hump on a set of quads. He hit engine and frame first on the point of the hump and stopped dead. The wheels never even touched. It took them a long time to pick him up and load him in the ambulance....
