klrmike Hope I,m not to late for a reply,my apologies.been busy.Once you get to Marietta, 26 is a nice little twisy thru Wayne nat forest. You can take it to Bloomfield then jump on 260 back to the river.Once in Wheeling, take a side jaunt out on 250 and ride by the palace of gold, interesting place.

Also, just past the palace of gold a frontier legend is buried their

In pa,the ride over to ohio pyle is nice. Also frank Loyd Wrights house falling waters.Northen Pa rt 6 is a nice east west ride.14 north off of 6 at Troy Pa into Ny takes you thru the wine country and finger lakes country. If ya have any trouble around the Marietta area, give me a call.

TheWanderer I assume you are taking Natchez Trace to Nashville?

Or are you hitting the Interstate for most of this?

From Nashville to Mammoth is pretty slim pickings scenic wise unless you zig zag some local roads.

Mammoth to Lexington will be a snooze fest. Just not much to see unless you take 68 which might help a little. You familiar with the Daniel Boone Forest? If you want to divert yourself east from Mammoth Cave, take Cumberland Parkway to Somerset. Find a route over in to the DB and then zig zag your way up all the way to Slade, KY where you will find one awesome place called Red River Gorge. Even if you don't go east and decide to take Interstate or 68, you will still be going so close to Slade, KY later anyway, that you don't want to miss Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge. Then, work your way up through the DB again and visit Cave Run Lake and Zilpo byway (hit up the firetower, one unbelievable panoramic view!). Keep going through DB and you will dump right back on to 60 or the interstate west of Huntington.

We plan to go to Mammoth Cave NP then wander N and E ending up in Huntington WV then Ohio 7 to probably Wheeling and into Pa and upstate NY-no real plan and no real destination open to suggestions on Pa and NY-will end up heading S thru E Pa and down to NC and back to MS
thanks

TheWanderer The secret to finding the scenic routes is on every map. Locate the curviest road that looks like the road builder was coughing and sneazing while planning it out /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ means scenic!

Routes

Guys
Route 7 from Huntington WV to Wheeling WV(Ohio side of the Ohio River) is shown as a scenic route...anybody ridden it that can pass on any info on whether that would be a good choice for a "nice ride" from Ken to W Pa?
Also any info on good rides in W Pa and upstate NY...not necessarily looking for twisties here as will be 2up on a Valkyrie-mostly interested in rural type scenery stuff(small town America)and avoiding the tourist traps. Hopefully we won't get caught up in the leaf peepers...
Thanks Joe
