I'm not talking about riding a Saddlesore or Bunburner, I'm talking about riding the Rally. Held once every 2 years, it's 11,000 (or more) miles in 11 days, all while keeping perfect records of fuel, calling into the Rallymaster when required, and gathering as many bonuses as possible and not being late to the checkpoints..

Yeah, a Saddlesore (1000 miles in 24 hours) is not difficult.. This isn't just a ride, but the most intense LD riding competition there is.. I've done 12 and 24 hour road rallies, but nothing more than that. This is 11 days straight of a road rally.. There were over 5000 applicants for this rally and only 101 were allowed...

CheapBassTurd Yo yo Paper,
I don't participate nor do I need a silly patch saying how far I've ridden.

Yet doing an IB is too cool just to say I've done it (twice.) All the documentation
and proof of mileage takes the fun out of it.

My big one was coming home from Roswell to NW Indyanna near Chicago and
the ignition jammed in the on position. Did the 1350 miles nonstop!!!!!!!
I used the kill switch at gas stations, and in OK, did a 20 minute powernap.
The headlite was dim and orange but a roll down a hill, dumped the clutch and all was hummin' again.

I do 300 mile days to soak up the scenery, and 800+ when there's interstates
with some major distance to cover. I've ridden 23 states and hope to do the rest,

And yes, there's a KLR in the mix..

Check the website for daily updates..

While I have no desire to partake in this event, I enjoy reading about the rally as it happens..
