Canon SD 800 IS. (Image Stabilazation) 7.1 megapixels. Has excellent wide angle and also decent zoom capabilities. I have one for travel. Fits in your pocket. Cost is around $350. The Rebel type camera is for dedicated photograpy activities, not for an everyday, throw in your pocket camera. |

No the Rebel is NOT a compact, but I have a compact, the HP 435, I want another camera my wife can use with the many lenses she has already. So what is the "perfect" camera for $379????????? I do like my HP435 that I gave a little over $100 for. |

It all depends on how much $$$$ you want to spend. I'm looking for a Canon Rebel XT, but hate to come off with $599. You can buy the compact cameras with 3-6 megs for about $69- however much you want to spend. I have a HP photo smart 435, (3.1 meg) I've had a couple years. It does all I need/want. But the wife wants a better one, ( the rebel xt or xti). |
