|BolderKeith||Finished installing a SuperTrapp IDS2 Quiet muffler. I am running it with 12 discs which gives it the minimum back pressure for this muffler. I like the sound, and of course it is louder than stock. It is six pounds lighter than the stock muffler. I had to compensate for two quality control problems: the mid pipe would not fit on the header pipe and the muffler bracket did not match the location of the frame bracket. I rented a tail pipe expander at AutoZone, and I made an intermediate bracket to mount the muffler. I could have forced the muffler to match the mounting holes, but I didn't like the idea of stressing the whole exhaust system.|

|Whitey||I just did this to my 07 last sunday. All I did was remove the support screw for the throttle cables and removed the cables and pushed then out of the way. Then I just loosened the two hose clambs on either end of the carb. By pushing the carb back towards the airbox and getting it pulled out of the intake(head) side i was able to pull it loose enough to twist at an angle that I could drill into the plug and pull it out. I turned my screw out 3/4 turn and noticed a lot easier cold starting and less surging at 3500rpms. I just turned 300 miles and will soon be replacing the pipe and rejetting the carb and putting in the adjustable needle. Cant wait, I want more torque!|

KLR 650 Carburetor Rejetting
2007 KLR: It appears that the carb must be removed to remove the cap covering the mixture screw, drilling the slide and changing the main jet. Anybody out there know the steps needed to remove the carb?
