Savage That's funny. This summer after cutting the sleeves off of one of my black t-shirts I put in on my head for some reason. Ended up using it all the time to keep the sun off my neck and put water on it to keep me cool. Now I use it to help keep my neck warm. Works good, sweatpants would work better for warmth.

clogan I Use a section cut out of an old sweat pant leg. Slipped over the head, it covers my nose, mouth, and neck. Very warm! Have to wash it after every ride or three, tho'. Starts gettin smelly.

Cheap, effective...the KLR way!

Slowpoke I use an Alpinestars winter baklava - stretchy something or other material over the head, inner fleece neck inside the the coat collar, outer cape covers the collar and sheds water like a duck.

When it's cold - heated jacket liner.

In less challenging conditions use a couple different Oxford stretchy tube deals.

Just buy some of those chemically-heated "pain relief" patches and stick 'em on your upper chest. They last for hours.

masterlink I've used something around my neck since snow skiing @ LOON Mnt. In college, to riding a MC for the past 40 years. I do what Planalp does...Balaclava.... However it's spelled... Over my head, or just around my neck.
My question: Does anyone NOT use a neck warmer/cover??

Dan Diego Shampa (?) sells some good, inexpensive neck/headwarmers.

But the best--IMHO--is the polypro military grade stuff available at any surplus store or ebay.

Savage I bought one from Walmart for hunting. Too much stuff around my neck when trying to turn my head. Bought $1 stocking hat, cut a hole in the top and slide it over and around my neck. Works perfect! That and the cheap rckymtnatv balaclava. they work good together.
