Sitting here last night and heard a pop, then a creak, and just thought the old desk chair settled.
Then the wife yells from the other room "Did you feel that one?"
Ceiling fan chains swaying, but that was it. It was about ten miles from us.
Still waiting for the big one I guess.

Been thru a few of them. Meh!
Lost the chimney in one, had to rebuild it but with "free" building permits from the city. All the building inspectors were from out of town and contract workers. Not one of the four inspectors were on anything close to the same page.
I was in the backyard when the Loma-Prietŗ quake hit. Turned on the TV and all the San Francisco stations were off the air. Thought SF was gone, neighbor was driving a tow truck on the Bay Bridge when it hit. Scared him silly.

The big one in ca!!
My brother has lived in LA area since leaving NJ for CA for his first year of college. Anyway, I see the news is saying what my bro always said: " when the big one comes, the country will sink and CA will float out to the pacific!!
Regardless, I fully expect you CA guys to invite me to your beach/bay-front property!!
