I have motech bars and a center stand. I don't know what center stand it is, it was on the bike when I bought it. I installed the crash bars. as I recall, that end of the install (lower end of bars, footpegs, center stand) was pretty much plug and play. If I recall correctly, there was a longer set of bolts to accommodate the center stand.

One comment I should throw out there is this: In some ways the Motech bars are a very nice design and high quality *except* ...

I was not impressed with the fit and symmetry. The front bracket where it attaches through the engine mount was a real pain to get lined up with the bolt holes. The right side lined right up, but the left side did not. The only way it worked was because of the anti-vibration bushings, the top one was squooshed all the way to the rear ad the bottom one was squooshed all the way forward to get the through bolts through. And after it all was put together there was noticeably more of a gap between the cowling and the bars on the right side than the left. I was reminded of this the other day when I installed a Happy Trails skid plate. the front mounting u bolt was all the way to one side of the mounting slots in the plate, and it still wasn't quite centered between the bars. Not a big deal, and you have to be consciously looking for it, but I kind of expected better.

If you look at the hardware layout in my pdf link, you will see that I got an extra set of bolts for when using a center stand. ( #12 in pix. on page 1 )

I don't have a center stand on my bike, so I don't know if it fits??

bl4935 I have the SW Motechs and I am happy with them so far. I do not have the center stand but SW Motech does make one that fits with the crash bars. I am not sure how other brands fit.

Thinking of getting a set for my 08 ... I have a Centre Stand on the bike already (KLR650.com) ... any idea if there would be a problem fitting the bars with the centre stand? I read somewhere there were extra bolts on offer if you had the Motech stand ...
