Paper We always called it the Wilton Hilton.. It's on the west side of Wilton Lake, if I remember correctly. I stayed at the hotel on the east side of Farmington once, also.

If I can drum up some work in your neck of the woods, I'll give you a shout!!

Let us know what you end up with for an outlet. It's always nice to see what others use.

skiwik56 Hey Paper, thanks for the pics. Yeah I'm only about 8 miles from Wilton, and I'm nearly certain that I know the place where you stayed. I was just down in Jay two days ago when I was picking up a U-haul trailer to go get the new bike.......we've still got a ton of snow so I wasn't up for riding the new girl home. To say that I'm unbelievably stoked about the new '08 KLR would be an understatement......I'm about ready to crawl out of my skin. If you're ever back up in the Jay/Wilton area we should connect.

Paper Welcome!!
I've spent a fair amount of time in your neck of the woods.. I used to stay at the hotel in Wilton while working at the paper mill in Jay.

Anyway, for power I use a Powerlet style plug. It's a very short plug and easy to mount. Here's where I have mine on my KLR.

This location is out of the way for me to plug in my electric vest, and I also use it for running my air pump for blowing up air mattresses while camping.

I made a short adapter for running a cigarrete plug for charging cell phones and running the blower. The plug and outlet are available at a lot of places, including BMW motorcycle dealers and John Deere Impliment dealers.

DXKLR I went to Walmart and picked up a 2 prong connector that mounts directly to the battery, letting me use my trickle charger and then also at walmart in the automotive section they had a 12v power outlet that would connect to the 2 prong connecor allowing me to use an air pump or a GPS or any other number of items. I let my connector hang down just under the side plate on the left hand side. Other people have bought the outlets that have a housing and mounted them to the speedometer housing, using either good 3M double sided tape or Epoxy. Just do a search on google for KLR 12volt outlet..

skiwik56 Thanks, one thing I'm really looking for is a 12V accessory outlet for my '08 KLR. I've seen pictures of other KLR's that have them (a few bikes in the gadgets & gizmos section of this site) but I can't seem to find any online. Any suggestions?

Looking for other Maine riders...

Hey all, I live up in the Farmington region of Maine and am constantly looking to ride with new people. Anybody from Maine or Northern NH? I just picked up a new KLR650 and am fired up for spring fishing. Also wanted to pick people's brains for accessory websites. I've come across a few good ones so far twistedthrottle.com, sporttour.com, and of course happy-trail.com . Anyway, I'm new, so I'd love to hear from you guys. Take it easy, and thanks in advance.
