thanks for the replies. My concern was interference from the kick stand, poor fit and the stand not raising the bike high enough to be effective for taking a tire off.
Has anyone tried the studebaker or afrika centerstands?

My used KLR came with a dot com centerstand and it is too short to be totally effective. When I am on teh centerstand both tire still touch the ground. Its stable but I can't oil or adjust the chain. So don't trust dot com .
SW Motech makes good products. Happy Trails is a good manufacturer.

Center stand KLR 650.
I bought this stand from germany on eBay. A bit more pricy...
It fits 94-03, but the seller probably has stands for later models as well.
This stand is easy to mount, very sturdy built and of good quality. There is however no "pin" on which to put your weight to lift the bike so itīs rather heavy to get the bike up on the stand. But, to be honest, how often will you use it...?? Lubricating the chain and changeing tyres!
I would recommend anyone to get a center stand for their bikes anytime. Itīs great! Greetings from Sweden! /Per

Best Center stand for 07 KLR
After my second flat tire i have decided i need a center stand for my KLR.
I have read about many problems with center stands. To name a few "shearing or wearing of bolts on foot pegs", "interferance with the kick stand", "bike too heavy to get it onto the center stand" and etc.
Is there any consensus on which one has the best fit and function. I am not made of money but the difference in price is not enough to justify not getting the best stand available. I have seen prices ranging from $109 to $159.
