Best solution is this thing

I used an X grip, and lost a phone at speed- not pretty. Adding the rubber cradle thing to it helped, but I never trusted it completely for off road work.

So, I found this thing to be the ultimate in secure fastening of a phone. You can personally the dimensions of the thing to your phone- it is holds it very securely--- including some hard dirt naps that my KLR has taken:

Sorry - I cant post the link because I dont have 15 posts yet.. bummer

just search ram finger grip cell phone holder- both youtube and revzilla will come up

jojojones I have a ram x grip on to the handlebar with my motoG phone inside ...google this..."WATERPROOF iPHONE 6 PLUS CASE, KONA [EXTRA LARGE]" on Amazon $12.97.

(this site requires 15 posts before a link can be used=substandard sorry)

and I installed a power cable in to the pouch and sealed with silicone. Slide the phone partially in, put in power cord then slide all the way in and seal. The clear plastic does allow you to use touch screen but not with my particular gloves. Then it also has a strap I loop around handle bars in case it were to fly off which is very unlikely with ram x mount. My phone is not an iphone6+ but I needed the larger size to have the power cord inserted. The extra material on top and bottom then actually acts like a cushion in the x grip. waterproof, shockproof, works well.

kspence74 You might want to check this one out. It works for several phones and GPS units.

BigUglyGreenKLR Will the vibration of the KLR damage a phone? I remember people having problems 15 years ago with devices (GARMIN GPS) being damaged by the KLR's vibration.

I would like to mount a small tablet with GPS it it won't get destroyed. It might be easier to just put it in the tank bag.

BigRed Hmmm, not sure frankly. Never tried. Use voice commands through my sena 20s except when I take pictures.

Can you use the touchscreen through the plastic?

Arcgreenskeeper I have the X grip. It came with a rubber retainer to make sure it stays put. Only strap it in when I'm on gravel or the interstate!

That might work if it was bigger. It measures 6 x 5 x 3 inches. My phone is bigger that 6 and wider than 3. Not by much but still bigger.
