Tank Bag relocation

The weather has finally brightened up enough where I live to get out and do some day rides. And I have found that I just can't stand that tank bag in front of me, for it forces me to ride further back on the seat. Over the past 20 some odd years of nothing but trail riding I have developed a habit of placing my crotch right up on the tank when riding, I'm just more comfortable and feel more in control. So i road yesterday without it on a 50/50 onroad and offroad ride and had a kick of a good time. Dare I say the klr felt almost nimble, on second thought not really.
Anyways, this particular tank bag is an excellent item and I want to keep it to use up front for those pavement only rides to the park etc. But I'd also like to modify it somehow to use on the back. I'm thinking of something along the lines of purchasing those funny contraptions that puts a metal ring into material and then somehow 'bolting' the bag down to the rear luggage rack.
What do you fellers thinks.
