|chrider||I was looking at replacing some of the faded parts with OEM parts and found many of the red and green ones in stock at Partzilla.com. Eventually I chose to buy only the one that was missing on my bike, and for the rest of them I put some color back into them with a heat gun.|

No such thing as aftermarket Gen1 plastic. Other than using generic pces or adapting stuff, you're stuck with used or new OEM when available.
Since I hate rattlecanned plastic, I used a variety of approaches including cleaning and a heat gun on the used stuff followed by clear numberplate background https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/...ckground-sheet to protect the finish and add shine. I replaced some pces as necessary but not all are available......for parts with decals, try a different year that uses the same color parts; Bill's timeline can help determine what years came with what colors; http://watt-man.com/uploads/KLR_Timeline.pdf
I've also seen some decent results with wraps or hydrodipping - not cheap and I don't know how well it would hold up but it looks good; Kawasaki KLR 650 Custom Camo Dual Sport Gen 1 Gen 2 Powdercoated Hydrodipped

|klr4evr||Anytime I wanted new plastic for my Gen 1 I was able to obtain it from the dealership. It wasnít cheap but actually turned out to be less than I thought it would be.|

BTW, my Radiator Shrouds are a mix of flex-epoxy, epoxy, drilled holes (to stop the ever-growing cracks), mickeymouse brackets, and maybe even a ZipTie by the time I add those back on the Bike. To get some marginal used ones I'd expect to pay $150-ish. I've seen people 'make' them and the look pretty all right actually. I was able to also score 'missing' stuff on eBay, though pricing is Fugly sometimes. Patience bailed me out there...
"HEY, IT'S THE PART I NEED!" changed to
"I'll wait for MY more reasonably priced part since eBay covers THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!"

I've not found any either, save for 'used'.
I made GOOD use of CL in town to pickup some quick parts and I was REALLY lucky with my timing to have more 'n just a few things available to me. It's been about 3 months since then, and I'm still reviewing CL regularly and there's been like NO KLR ACTIVITY, and in Phoenix no less.
It isn't pretty after-market support for the Gen1 bodywork.
in case these KLRForum GENIUSES reveal ANOTHER 'Pearl',
(and they do that A LOT!!!),
let's see if we can find out about a replacement windscreen for the Gen1 as well?

I'm looking for a line on new plastics for my 2006 KLR650. Ive seen replacement plastics for nearly every other make and model, but I can't seem to find any NEW gen 1 plastics. Any
help is appreciated. Thanks!
