Jhawker23, The clutch cable adjusters need to be loose enough that the end of the clutch lever has about 1/2" of free-play regardless of which direction the handlebars are turned.
Otherwise the clutch may slip during regular riding.
The 'wet clutch' plates tend to stick together when the bike is left un-used for sometime.
Once started and warmed-up, squeeze AND HOLD the clutch lever. Quickly rev and allow the engine to return to Idle, three or more times. This should spin the clutch plates 'free'.
Still holding the clutch lever and the engine at idle, Yes?
One should be able to engage either 1st or 2nd gear without the engine stalling.

|Jhawker23||Ah, Mod you can delete. I was able to get it with the force the roll back and forth method. Still not "perfect" but it needs some ride time.|

Bike dies neutral to 1st AND won't shift to 2nd
Hi all, been a while since I've been on. My bike ('16 w/400 miles) was running fine a week ago. Now, it only runs in neutral. Obviously I have a clutch issue because it won't roll in 1st and won't shift to 2nd. Hard as a rock. I can shift neutral to 1st and back to neutral when not running but won't roll. I have the handle shift cable as tight as possible. There's movement of the outer plate when I look from the oil fill hole.
I also noticed the last time I was riding it was like the clutch wasn't fully engaged. In 1st gear it's like it was keeping some speed when the clutch was fully engaged.
I think I've answered my own question by writing it out. I'll hope to free it through some suggestions from other posts. However, could it be something else?
