Update

So I was just backtracking through some threads and thought this needed an update.

After the epic "Lord of the flys" ride as I now so affectionately refer to it, Doc Wong took a lot of the feed back from Cabrito, Gianni (RIP), and myself and did make changes incorporating and first loop that's easy and at that point people can leave or continue on the more technical route.

Cabrito and I have done the ride a few more times as mentors and sweeps and in Doc Wongs defense, when SLOKLR (RIP) was with us it was all very easy and light fire trails. The whole thing was completed at a reasonable time and there was no really damage but minor scuffs and what not.

It was a rainy year that did wreak unexpected havoc to the trails and everybody was caught off guard.

Having said that, the honest critiques and criticism did cause a change in SOP and the ride is much safer with ways out and varying levels everyone's desires.

When my gal is ready for it we will do this ride in the future without reservation.

Lost at the fork in the road

Here is where we figured out we were lost. There was a fork and one of them went to a locked gate.

Lots of big minds trying to figure out where the heck we were.

My Garmin Nuvi 500 was pretty much useless for the roads out here. Of course I could always follow my track back, but it did not list any of the side trails.

Maybe so, but I'm still not sure how he went over..

In fact I'm still not exactly sure why I went over right here!

Here I am helping a guy pickup his Big Vstrom. I'ts not a rut but anther fun section that seemed to get the best of a few bikes. Poor guy fell backwards into the brambles. I'm not sure how he survived. :wtf

I'm not sure exactly how he went over because I got there after the fact, but this is what it looked like leading up to the incident. You can see in the background on the left where we are pulling up the bike. Lot's of guys dumped it here.
