ray h Got my Bell Revolver today. First off, I ordered it from Motorcycle Superstore, as always their service was impeccable. I ordered it Wednesday, received it today (Friday). The price was $99.95 (free shipping) which is 1/2 off regular price. The Revolver seems to fit true to size, maybe a tad tight on the sides but Im sure it will loosen with use. Ive got a roundish head, I usually wear HJC helmets because they fit my head well. If HJCs fit you well, the Revolver should also fit you.
The initial quality of the Revolver seems to be much better than my HJC CL-Max and nearly as good as my Scorpion EXO-900. The overall quality seems good. The shield is high quality and easy to operate. Its also very, VERY easy to remove and install (one of the main reasons I chose this helmet) The internal sunshield seems thin and flimsy but it operates well and has good coverage when its down. The weight is a little more than my CL-Max and less than my EXO-900. I havent rode with it yet so I cant comment on things like venting and noise.
In spite of the apparent high quality of the helmet, this particular one does have a piece of trim along the bottom edge that is loose, Im not going to return it for this, A smearing of superglue should fix it nicely. This is how the rest of the trim on the bottom edge is held in place, it looks like this section of trim just didnt get much glue during manufacturing.
I'll get back with more once I've riden with it enough to develop an opinion on how it works.

UPDATE:
I tried gluing the trim piece back into place and I couldnt get it to hold so I sent it back to MSS. My new one is on its way here.

Paulo888 I sell helmets and moto gear. The clmax base plates were a poor design. Not a great helmet. I too bought that hi viz bell helmet. Okay helmet for the price. I installed the chatterbox system on mine and I can't hear my music as well as my other five helmets I have speakers in. The drop down visor is okay. The hjc IS max drop down sunshade has better peripheral vision. Newer higher lever HJC's are better than the clmax. The cl max was a bad design and they new it.

HJC out/ Bell in

Well, Ive been wearing HJC helmets for awhile now because they fit well and they are reasonably priced, but yesterday was the last straw. The visor on my HJC CL-Max flew off while I was riding. Apparently a spring loaded clip on one side broke or fell off. I had it off the day before to clean it and I had one hellava time getting it back on, I dont know if I broke something then or just didnt get it completely on. Ive had trouble putting it on every time Ive removed it. I dont consider myself to be a stupid person and I think Im mechanically inclined. Most of the time, if I look at something long enough I can usually figure out how it works. That is not the case with the damn shield hinge/release mechanism on my HJC CL-Max. I look at that thing and I feel like a caveman trying to analyze some kind of time travel, biomechanical, warp drive from the planet Zardoff. It doesnt matter how long I stare at it, I can not figure out what all the little nubs, pins and levers are for. Its very frustrating for someone who can usually figure these things out.
Anyway, Im not messing with this frustrating thing any more, I bought a Bell Revolver last night (Im waiting patiently for my package). Ive read good reviews, it was priced right, the shield mech seems simple and Ive been wanting a hi-vis helmet for while. The bad things that Ive read are that its heavy (doesnt surprise me for a flip w/sunshield) and its loud (may not be an issue with my windshield and if it is, earplugs are cheap). Im a little concerned about how the hi-vis yellow is going to look while riding a bright "Kawasaki green" motorcycle. My wife said I will be lemon-lime. I just hope it fits my head, I didnt have a chance to find one locally to try on.
We will see.
