I did a lot of riding this past spring and early summer then I got busy. Iím realy itching to get out on it!

Iím planning two or three day ride out to VTís Bayley Hazen military road in September. IF you are interested.

I also may rid out to Herkimerís Italian Fest this Saturday. I may loop up to Rout 10 and head down a nice seasonal road I like to hit and head over to the fest for some food. Let me know if youíre interested in joining the ride.

I live in Rhinebeck and have an 02 klr along with numerous other bikes. We do alot of riding in the catskills and Berkshires. There is an event coming up which may interest you'all. It's a Yankee reunion in Mass around August 27th. For the link just type in Yankee Reunion. It's all about the Yankee bike built in Schnectady by John Taylor at Ossa. He will be there along with a few legends like Don Cutler,Dick Mann etc. Any one wanting to go or just ride let me know @ [email protected] or call my cell @ 914-474-0367.

Newbie

I'm in Massapequa, NY and I'm new to motorcycle riding but I know I want a Kawasaki KLR 650. I'm still looking for one. Looking for a 2008, 09 10 or 11. Any difference in specs. What do you consider high mileage for this bike and how much are they going for these days for a well taken care of bike. Thanks

I saw a nice black Gen 2 with touring kit on S11th st in Brooklyn last week when I visited.
Looked really good. Anyone know who's this i. They must live in the building where my friend lives because it was parked out front everyday.

In Rochester, have had a 2008 since March, looking for more off-pavement and off-road places to ride.

Hey Tractoring, I saw that bike a month ago and have been looking for it ever since. Is it black and green with black Trax paniers? I have exactly the same set up exept my paniers are steel. I live in the same nieghborhood and wanted to find out who they used for service. I'm having a hard time finding someone professional to take care of my bike and the reviews of the brooklyn mechanics aern't exactly stellar. If anyone knows of a good mechanic for KLR's in Brooklyn I'd be grateful.

I do all of my own maintenance, mounting balancing tires etc. I think a lot of guys out there do the same. You will save $ over time and gain a better understanding of the bike which pays off when you are out on the road or back trails. Its really not a big deal. Hey Mako I'm in Wantagh and do quite a bit of riding upstate in the Adirondaks. I used to do a lot of Mako fishing years ago until I dumped my boat, still have a lot of fishing gear if you are interested, rods, reels, rigs, gaffs, tuna rigs bla bla bla, lots of good stuff. Send me a message and I'll get in touch or email me at [email protected]
