Maine

I just recently purchased a 2007 KLR (meaning yesterday). I live in York county thats southern Maine if you are reading from out of area. I have never owned a motorcycle and am very excited to start touring with dual sport. I already have an aluminium skid plate and tank panniers on their way! I look foward to years of riding this beast. Oh yeah I'm new to the forum so thank you admins!

I'm another new owner (Saturday 4/14/07) in southern Maine, looking forward to some better weather to test this thing out. I'm an elder-rider but not inexperienced, (MX racer in the 70s and Enduros later) it has been however about 20 years since I've owned a bike.

Lets go riding!

Nor'Easter

I went riding today! April 16 2007 in a major rain and wind storm. Roads washed out all over southern Maine. I was riding in the Waterboro, Shapleigh, Limerick area. I crossed some major water holes 18 inches of roadway water. Traveled roads cars couldn't got soaked it was a blast. I have a water proof digital camera but forgot it. (ugh) What a solid machine I am so happy with its performance today. This is a major crushing storm and the KLR ate it up.

On May 9th I will be done school for this semester! Ready to ride New England. I want to find some long dirt road riding and easy trails. Anyone in the southern Maine area or nearby states drop a line for a ride partner.

I live in Central Maine around Bangor area. I am down for a ride anytime. I am working out a wiring issue right now, but would be willing to travel. Thanks, Will

Whats up Maine riders! I live in Asheville, N.C. now but will be riding up in June to climb in Acadia and visit friends in Millbridge. Has anyone ever ridden up the coast on route 1 past Cherryfield area to the Blueberry Barrens? There's litteraly hundreds of miles of high-speed trails out there. Next time I'll have GPS or at least topos. Rode for hours out there last time and got turned around in all the intersections, so I parked it and caught a nice fat native trout and fried him with blueberries. Then the sun was setting so I followed it west and eventualy hit tar, took a left, and made my way back to Millbridge. cool spot.

I'll climb Acadia with you. I have never been to the area north of Acadia, but I'll go anywhere. What are the dates you are thinking of coming up?
