No kidding. In America, you would need authorization from the BATF, DMV, EPA, FAA, etc. to do such a thing.

I guess it wasn't explained without the whole YouTube page being displayed, but it was a suspected drug-smuggling plane, thus the extreme measures taken to stop it.

Planalp,
Good thing you clarified that for us. I couldn't figure out why those guys needed M-4s to help a pilot whose brakes had failed. Reminds me of being in Germany during the Kosovo war (I thought it was a war, the folks on both sides of the fight thought it was a war, not sure what NATO classified it as...and don't care). I was running around the base track during one of the daily demonstrations and some protester was throwing a bottle or brick over the fence. The German Riot police use a 3' long (apparently metal) baton to control protesters, and they broke the guy's arm before he could toss his object over the fence. Sonically, I'd call it a tie between the sound of an arm breaking (via metal rod strike) and the scream that follows when you handcuff a guys broken arm behind his back and throw him into a van. Neither sound lent much encouragement to the other protesters that day. I guess when you know who the bad guys are and your ROE are clear, you needn't worry too much about the consequences of your actions (assuming your country isn't run by special interest and lawyers).
Regards

Mark
