You're not the first and certainly won't be the last.

Yea that's why I showed up here.

I used to check back over there once in awhile. It seems more hostile than it used to or needs to be IMHO. Much friendlier place here

I wound up in the same boat: never went back. Way too much drama.

I joined HTT Harley Tech Talk in 2001 when there were <2000 members.
By the time I left the site had exploded to 25,000+ members and
degenerated to a bunch of keyboard commando bikers arguing over
what oil is best. Bannings became the order of the day, flame wars
always erupting, political rants, etc.
The site is very well managed now and they take no crap, and it's
literally the largest HD site on the web.
I was in a split-off faction that formed a new site much like this one
here at KAW central. If it's not positive, we generally don't even
post it.
These are the old farts as we call ourselves of HD and would rather
share stories, tech tips, post tons of pics, and many of us even know
each others' kids names n' such. The tri-yearly gathering/ rides
get 40-50 bikes and about 70 people. It's mainly the same core
group that comes and we have become fairly close, and a few lifelong
friendships have been formed.

I'll take the crowd that likes sitting around at a KOA riding all day
and telling fish stories long into the nite.
That's the same warmth and sharing I found here and joined right away
when I bought the batcycle. I like the friendly banter and rib poking here
that goes along with doohickys and uncomfortable seats.

Putting on your big-boy pants is more challenging for some than others. I've made mistakes on this forum and been called on it. Happens, I basically operate on the theory that when I'm in a room with more than 10 people two things are certain: 1. I'm not the smartest person in the room. 2. Neither is the guy who thinks he is. I like to keep things pretty simple and that means not making time for "hurt feelings". My 9-year-old lab treats every day (and every moment she's with her family) as the best thing ever. You can't help but think a dog's got the world pretty well figured out. Enjoy every minute you're not in pain, lonely or hungry, don't make time for the petty crap.

Dogs remain loyal to those who treat them poorly, and they lick their a$$.

I believe this is the thread in question... It looks like it was turning into a pissing match early on http://www.klr650.net/forums/showthread.php?t=98103

Though I will agree, Glenn was totally wrong at the end, the batteries are filled and sealed when manufactured, nobody puts the acid in the DEKA afterwards... Hell, mine was shipped upside down!
