Separating motorcycles from ATVs

A little cartoon to address some of the issues I've seen with the inclusion of motorcycles with other ATVs when it comes to off road riding. After all there is a separate endorsement for motorcycles vs cars, right? Why should other four wheeled vehicles be different off road?

She's so HOT!! If I were a cartoon, I'd be all over that!!!

Around here, most of the trails are ATV only.. Motorcycles aren't allowed, because they're not registered (dirt bikes), there's no sticker funding the trail use (won't sell to bikes), and much of trail system is on private property, and the land owner forbids motorcycle use on them.

I can buy a trail pass for my 250 Honda Quad (and do) and ride it all I want, but I can't take my licensed KLR on them.. The biggest battle is that the land owners don't want bikes on the property, because the're ATV riders and want it as a ATV trail, only.

We have the same issue with a large trail system that was built and paid for by Snowmobile funding.. Bicycle riders (who don't pay for trail use) want the trail paved with blacktop.. Guess what makes snow melt quickly?? Black surfaces..
Currently, the trail is well packed, hard, small gravel.. Just because they want it paved, they want to ruin it for the people that actually built and paid for the system..

Sometimes you just can't win.

Feel your pain. Few off-road opportunities around here unless you know a friendly landowner. Couple of local clubs, primarily motocross. Gravel starts to pick-up 30-40 miles south. Preemo riding 100-150 miles south (Mark Twain National Forest). Pretty envious of the NW Arkansas guys. Don't call me Shirley.

Ohio dual sport rider numbers are increasing because of fewer trails long enough to be ridden by full offroad vehicles without going onto public roads. I feel for areas where money from ATVs buy a preferential treatment and laws biased against street legal motorcycles.

Yep, get down there 3 or 4 times a year. About the closest place for any serious off-roading (ATV trails), nice camping too. Another 45 min or so to Mark Twain National Forest. Planning to get down to Chadwick this year but it's about a five hour haul.

Chadwick's a nice place to ride also.Good camping and parking, but much rougher riding than St.Joe, would be a handfull on a KLR. Chadwick is only about 30 min from the house for me, let me know when you head this way.
