Like the KLR isn't uncomfortable enough!

Goddamn it! Francine loves riding her little scooter. I take my old skateboard out and we tear it up (helmeted of course). So the other day, I figured, why not bust out the old street hockey skates. I used to be good as hell. It did NOT come back naturally. Went down three times. The last time wheels went out from under me, straight onto my tailbone. Crunch. Literally, bad sound. Fractured the damn thing. Hurts like a bitch.

On the plus side, Francine is scooting much better and learning to get up and dust herself off without crying. I managed to fall and get right back up with no drama. Getting older ****ing sucks. Boo. Just needed to vent. **** me. Oh, and can the docs do anything? Give me vicodin. No thanks. See sobriety thread.

I'm gonna have to sit on a goddamn donut. Oh well. My dad broke his wrist on my skateboard. LOL. And my ass ain't my moneymaker. A broken wrist would be BAD news for someone who types for a living.

Two words from a guy who's trying to keep up with his twelve year old and rode a unicycle three days ago for the first time in more than 30 years "Judo Lessons". Learn how to fall and the world is your gym mat.

I'm actually pretty good. The other two falls I handled well. This one the wheels shot out and I was on my ass in about .2 seconds. But I agree. Knowing how to fall is important. Unicycle? Jesus. Be careful.

I'm right there with 'ya man. I didn't break anything but have been enduring an episode of severe sciatica (basically intense lower back pain) since Sunday. It really, really sucks and the pain is unrelenting. Finally got into the chiro yesterday and she shot me with that damned little gun, lasered me and shocked me. I go back tomorrow.

I could have ridden to work every day this week, too. It blows. I haven't even been able to go to work. The constant pain gets really old quickly. Actually, sitting on the KLR is more comfortable than sitting in my Tacoma which is just a godawful experience, especially since I have a clutch. But, I can't even get on and off the KLR so that's not an option, plus I don't trust my left leg enough.

Not my worst episode, though. One time my wife was gone on vacation and it flared up and at one point I got stuck in my bed because it was too painful to get out. I tried a couple of times and actually almost blacked out. I was stuck there for like 8 hours and at one point had to just grab a pillow and piss on it and throw it away when I was able to get up. I didn't want to worry my wife since she was having a good time so I just told her one of the dogs pissed on the pillow.

Hang in there, dude! At least you were doing something worthwhile when it happened.
Hope you're not laid up too long. I believe with an injury like that all you can do is let it heal on its own, huh?

Oh, and consider yourself damned fortunate your ass isn't your moneymaker!

Say what you will, but if my ass was my moneymaker at least my earning potential would be increasing every year.

i believe that would be considered a reverse sh&# whip. i have 2 bulged discs in my lower back and one of the is crushing the left sciatic nerve against my spinal column which pretty much makes my left leg useless. so i understand the pain all too well. and i also agree that the klr is way more comfy than the truck. i can hardly sit in a vehicle but riding is fine. i just have to stand on the peg first to get on and off. no prob.

I hate to laugh at your pain man, but having to piss on your pillow because your back hurts too much to get out of bed beats anything I've ever had to endure with my back. A few years back I drank a wee bit too much and ended up with my nose between the sides of the crapper.......I barfed so hard that I threw my back out and had to have my wife drag, carry, and lift me into bed after lying on the floor til' morning.......not a good night. Anyway, once again, not laughing at your pain, just the peeing part.

I've blamed the dogs for a lot of things , but pissing on the pillow never crossed my mind. LOL

I used to ride a unicycle, Its been over 30 years since I last tried it, but in my mind I think I still would have those special balance skills. Well regardless of whether or not my ass is my money maker, I think I would skip it.

SOMETIMES YOU GUYS REALLY MAKE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD

LJ hope you feel better soon

Scrapper,
You gotta get your disc fixed. I put up with a herniated disc for two years before having a fusion done (not enough disc to bother with a buldge reduction) and the relief was immediate. Very well worth the two day hospital stay and month of laying around. With a bulge reduction, I think the downtime is even less.
Regards
Mark
