With great sadness - RIP SLO-KLR

I received a call from Michael this evening, informing me of our friend SLO's passing.

Darin was one of the finest gentlemen I have had the pleasure to have known.

Let his family be in your thoughts this day.

http://www.sanluisobispo.com/2012/05...cle-crash.html

His colleagues set up an online fundraiser for Darin’s wife and children at https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/7J785.

Rest in peace, brother Darin. I shall miss you greatly.

Tom

Damn.
Godspeed Brother.

I was just at his house a few weeks ago working on the bike and riding. He has a great family and wife who must be in a world of hurt right now.

RIP Darin.

I hated making the call to Tom that night, but we were all supposed to go to Moab together in a few weeks.

Tonight Michael called me too.

Damn shame it is.

Whether it was fixing a flat on someone's tire, or encouraging a newer rider to come along, Darin was there. I am disappointed I was only able to spend one amazing weekend riding with the man, I will never forget the generosity he had, nor the passion for the two wheeled community. He was also a wonderful family man, showing me photos of his family, proud as a father could be.

Darin, you will be missed.

Wow. I feel gutted. I really can't think of any appropriate words. Darin was the 2nd member of the PPMC. He was a good friend and a great rider. I don't even know how to get a grip on this right now.

Tragic. No one will ever take his place.
