Spec, that's a BRILLIANT post mate!!! I was immediately sceptical the second this technology hit our shores and deactivated that function via the bank. I always get my cards swiped and PIN number only. Going to England shits me however because our Commonwealth Bank chips encoded in the card aren't compatible with their readers (yeah go figure that one, as I learned when on the Underground!!!), so I now go to the Royal Post to withdraw pounds to withdraw and pay for everything in cash to be safe. I NEVER use my CC unless for overseas purchases and my bank ALWAYS rings to confirm a purchase before it's authorised in that instance...it's already stopped 2 unauthorised transactions and saved me a fortune! Cash is and always shall be king, hehehehe!
