Stupid, stupid work!!!

I just found out after a comparison of shifts with our upcoming work schedules, that I'm not likely to see my gf for a whole freakin' month!!! While on the phone just before, the sucky reality just hit like a freight-train.

She lives a few hundred klm's away just across the border and her job's FAR more important than mine (EMS). Sadly over the next few weeks I've got to run my dads business in the city while he's away during the day, and every moment outside of that I have to spend as live-in manager at my normal job and run a hotel. Epic 3-way juggling act as you can imagine!!

I'll miss being at her sisters wedding, which has put me on the shit-list like you'd not believe through no fault of my own, don't get to see her at all for the month (unless she can squeeze in a few cheeky runs over here), and am under the pump well beyond what I'm happy with tbh. Running two vastly different businesses simultaneously, hours and hours of travel between each daily, no sleep/gf/social life for a month, not getting to spend any time at home with my housemate or my dogs, and totally no warning...yeah I'm freakin' loving today after finding all of this out in the space of a few hours!!!

I wish I could mate, I really, really wish I could...but the hotel has nobody there to run it during that period. I've been trying to figure out any viable option since discovering this just earlier tonight. It was a last-minute wedding and nobody else can run the damned place...there's maids, accounts, reception, kitchen staff, etc, and none of them can nor have enough experience to run the place. I'm in the dog-house right now, but will see what strings I can pull before the wedding...I'm trying like mad already mate!!!

Oh yeah that "half a day" is me riding 4hrs just to get there to the capital of another state, then 6hrs at least for the wedding, then 4hrs just to get back here, run the place without sleep, direct everything while being a zombie, etc. We have HUGE distances compared to you lads in the states, and I'd be doing it on a bike if possible to save a heap of time vs a car...thinking 1200cc of Bandit is the way to go, lol! It's not possible to be safe or responsible for big decisions given times and distances, which she understands, but isn't happy about. I'm breaking my balls and then-some working hard and doing a lot of crap work which is well below my skill levels so that I can finish renovations on my house, sell it and move over her way mate. We've got a goal, I'm making huge sacrifices and making sure that her career and her home renovations comes first...she knows that and I'm not the villain. Meh, we both own our own houses (mine oughtright), but life is shit when you least expect it. Yay for my life atm, but in the very near future we'll be giggling like idiots, hahaha! :P

Talking Look for the Good Side

You'll be making a lot of cash to outfit your bike, and you'll be so busy working you won't have any time to spend any cash!
I have worked 80 hour weeks in the past. Made a lot of money, and not many chances to spend any money! Too tired!
30 days isn't forever, just think about the guys and gals in the military who are gone for months to years.

KLR Kaos, you demolish the image of male Aussies, Mate!

Can't believe you're concerned about attending your girlfriend's sister's wedding!

You blokes are supposed to care about nothing besides beer and football (Australian rules, certainly); NEVER MIND what the Sheilas want!

You're actually CONSIDERATE, and SENSITIVE to a woman's wishes?

Alas, another icon (the Australian male) demolished!
