I hate to admit it, but I remember watching that on TV.. Back then.. That, and the first version of Supercross, or whatever ABC's Wide World of Sports called it..

I was at the 1st Supercross! Marty Tripes won becoming the first American to beat the Euros, the place went nuts.

Was this a trick to out the old guys?

Those "vintage" bikes are what I started riding on, 4-6" of suspension travel and drum brakes! You didn't get very far off the ground because you would break the frame if you landed too hard!
