Neat old jeep...

Was taking a stroll with my daughter yesterday and we came across a tastefully (and accurately) restored Army jeep. I'm not much into 4 wheeled vehicles (I drive a Focus), but man it was cool. Shovel and axe on the side, rifle on the 'dash', crankable, cushions filled with folded army blankets.

I assume it was a veterans day related sighting. He was a cool guy. I had major vehicular envy. Made by Ford in '43 and still running strong on the original engine. It was pretty much stock except for canvas and rubber and whatnot. Pretty long life for a machine that was made (and the welds proved it) to last a few weeks in combat.

I had a Cj2a 1947, basicly the same thing.....loved it, when I hurt my neck I couldn't take the rough ride and sold it to some kid.....biggest mistake I have made! Everytime I think about it, I give myself a few more kicks in the arse!!!

That's pretty strong praise. Cool you got to see one of those old workhorses restored that way.

Yeah, it was really cool. I wish my cell phone had a camera. And the guy was nice enough to show and explain all the cool shit to me and my girl.

Sorry you sold it, brother. I'll never get my 73 Honda CB450 back and, while I have mostly made peace with it, part of me HAS NOT.
