Don't hold your breath Dan....

....for being able to carry concealed in Illinois after today's school fiasco. Last I read Illinois had 147 days to re-write legislation that would allow concealed carry in Illinois. The shit's about to hit the fan I'm afraid. My heart goes out to the folks affected in Connecticut.

if the people in legislation had half a brain cell to rub together they would know that the answer is not less gun's it's more. a gun in the hand of an evil man will do evil, a gun in the hand of a good man will protect, defend, and in most cases make the evil man avoid doing anything in fear of what would happen to them. it makes me sick to think of what that ****ing coward did. but if there had been ONE person there packing i know it would have turned out differently. it's sad that people are so against guns. like the meme says making guns illegal will drop the death rate? we should do that with meth and heroine too. bottom line is there will always be guns in the hands of idiots. it's up to us responsible citizens to even the playing field and keep them in check. anyone who thinks differently is just ignorant and just as cowardly.

Concealed carry may have been able to help lessen that if someone had shot the guy first. You can get a gun in 2 hours in California on the black market, making more laws about gun control only hurts responsible citizens. And no I'm not a gun nut, I actually despise them, but they are a necessary tool at times. May God be with those families.

Beat me to the post Scrapper. ;-) your argument is very well put and IMHO very accurate.

Wow- primary concern is gun rights? Nobody mentions families or children first in this thread.

Respectfully Zin,

Could care less about gun rights, just stating the fact about the dismal way society as a whole has turned. I as well as many others have been praying for those families darn near all day.

The way media has tried to cover it as well is despicable. Why in the hell would you try to interview children that just saw people they care for die?! But, that is what sells... Society chooses that, directly and indirectly. Sad way society has turned. Thread started about guns because that was the tool that caused the damage, wielded by a disturbed individual who could have been stopped, had a respectable individual had the same tool. Our country is no longer the safe haven we have enjoyed for the past few generations.

Dan....aka Paper. Feel free to do whatever you want with this thread. A couple of days ago I was happy to read that your home state was forced to succumb to concealed carry laws within 147 days. i have a feeling that that won't happen now.
