Hawk Pics

Me 'n Lockjaw were shooting the breeze on another thread and I thought I'd try & share some shots from my back yard.
I don't know enough about hawks to know if these two were in love or wanting to fight, (or both) but they had a death-grip on each other and wouldn't turn loose even when a friend got within a few feet of them to grab these pics.

Once in a lifetime, I believe...

as someone who has some falconry experience i would say that this was a brawl. hard to tell if they are male or female because they are on the ground but mating definately doesnt look like or take place like that.

Awesome. It looks like they're some baby hawks too. I wouldn't think you could get so close to the hawks without them attacking or flying away. I've heard stories of hawks trying to attack little dogs, so I woulda been way more cautious.
