Today's Find

As we often do, Mrs. Flash and I went around to some antique shops this afternoon.

This was my find much to my surprise. A Helios 6" dial caliper, pristine condition, original case, only damage is to the inner part of the case where the I.D. measuring faces have cut through the lining. $25

I don't particularly care for the .200 dial but it sure beats the vernier calipers I use at home now !!!

Yeah, at work I have a worn out 6" Starrett and a new Brown & Sharp, plus a Mitutoyo digital but I just couldn't pass this up for the shop at home.

I have a 0-1'' Craftsman micrometer I use every day at work. My Brother has the matching 0-6'' dial caliper. They are over 30 yrs old and were given to us by our Grandfather. I think of him every time I use it.
