The Hunt for the Death Valley Germans

Does anyone remember this story? It's about a German Family who got lost in Death Valley in 1996. Their remains were found 13 years later after much speculation about Alien abduction or Govt. abduction or murder.

This story is a great read if you are interested in Search and Rescue and Death Valley.

I started reading this guys blog this weekend and couldn't turn away from it until I finished it.

My sister and brother-in-law used to be involved with the China Lake Naval Weapons Center Mountain Rescue Unit, so they've got stories about searches and rescues - but they weren't involved with the German family back in 1996.

I do remember the news stories about the family that went missing - as well as reading a news story in the Inyo Register about when their remains were located.

One story from the Inyo Register
