The Big Trip

Hey folks,
I know I've not been around lately, but I wanted to check in. Kim and I are leaving today for a 2 week, 3000 mile trip. She's a fairly new rider, but has put on some miles since her MSF course in Dec. My bike is weighed down with all of the camping stuff, all of my clothes, and some of hers (don't want to weigh down the Sherpa!) Anyway, if you think of it, throw up a prayer for us. We have three little ones at home and some of our family have not been positive about us taking this trip. So I'm a little nervous.
Thanks guys (and Kay)

Awww, Jamie --your family is no different than any of ours --it's those little ones at home that make it worrisome----it's natural---doesn't do anything for the guilt trip it puts you and Kim on but they will get over it and learn to deal with it--ours are all grown and we just pulled in today after 7 unplanned days on ours and none of them really knowing exactly where we were we had orders to call all of the kids and my mom as soon as we walked in and were told we are grounded for not checking in more----tuh-like we would get cell service anywhere we end up anyway I hope you and Kim have a safe, memory making ,full of fun trip..and tell Kim not to feel quilty if she wants to come home a few days early--it's the first time--it will get better every time...Kay

Thanks!
We're in Bend, Or. right now. About 850 miles in. Things are going well! I'll have a full trip report later.

Give me a call when you are close to Spokane, I will have the Motorhome ready for you and Kim. Will try to ride alittle with you 2 if work doesn't get in the way.

The shortest distance between two points is a damn shame.......

I rode Broke Back mountain, and my a$$ is killing me.....

Update, Jamie and Kim made it to my house tonight, June 28th.When they got here today and Kim pulled off her full face helmet, she was smiling ear to ear.
We just got back from dinner and they are relaxing getting ready for the last leg of the trip home. I meet Jamie in Febuary when he rode over here from Port Angeles. What a great guy, and his wife, well, lets just say Jamie is a lucky man. I don't want to spoil the story, but Kim has (at this point) logged on 2,500 mile so far on her Sherpa, just this trip. What a trooper. This is one of the happiest couples I have met in along time. They will leave here in the morning, spend one more night on the road, and be home Saturday.
From what they tell me, they will be busy for awhile after they get home, so it might be a few days before they can start their trip report, but it WILL be worth the wait.
Have a safe ride home and I will see you this summer.

We made it home today. Hooray! Feels good to sit on a couch for a while. Although I must say, KLR Gunn outdid himself with the accomodations a few nights ago. Thanks again Tim! Anyway, the trip was about 2900 miles, 13 days and a whole bunch of fun. I'm leaving on the 2nd for Oregon for my dad's 70th B-day party, so I won't have a chance to start the report until after then. In the mean-time, here's a bit of a teaser!
Cheers,

Jamie and Kimmy
