I think the KLR will be around for quite awhile.
Kaw got it right. The others...XLR. DR, KTM's, etc. keep changing to save an ounce
of weight, boost sales after an off year or two, or otherwise "keep up with the Joneses".
Our beloved KLR's get new paint n' stickers. Yes, a few lbs heavier, a few mph slower,
and keep starting and running day after day criss crossing every known land mass
with very few glitches. (The Versys engine and 6 speed sure have me drooling tho.)
The KLR does excactly what it was designed to do. Fire up and move a person under a
wide range of weather and terra conditions, period. That, my brothers of the wind and dirt
is the magic of the KLR. If ya want fancy fast n' furious, you bought the wrong bike.
Just another opinion,
This is my son, with whom I am well pleased." ----God
