5.4 Quake near YUMA

Tremers here at a little after midnight. Whole room seemed to vibrate for a couple of seconds. No pictures fell or anything damaged. Just silent vibrations. The center was about 42 miles from here best I can tell. That was my excitement for the evening.

I slept through my only earthquake. I was working out in San Jose and because of the time zone change and a rough day on the day before, I zonked out around 8pm.. The quake was at 10pm and I'm sure the people in the hotel room above me figured the quake was from my snoring..

I guess the center was 30 or so miles away and it was enough to break windows and shake stuff off the shelves at stores.. Oh well..

We had a 4.9 not to long before Christmas about 70 miles from town here. It felt like someone really big was walking past my desk at work, but for a long time. People were walking around and didn't even notice.

I thought it was pretty cool. I'd rather have a bunch of little ones instead of one big one any day.
