VW sure comes up with some cool advertising. Definitely sending it to the kids.

My Kaw Barn - 2004 KLR, 2006 Concours (sold), 1997 Bayou 400.

"It's a friggen motorcycle, it's not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you shit your pants every now and then. "

They certainly do come up with some cool advertising. One of my favorite anecdotes was from a friend whose auto repair shop I was visiting a while ago. The radio had one of those "German Engineering" theme ads to which my friend observed: "Its good that they put that German Engineering line in those ads. It's like the warning label on cigarette packages. "

I'm still laughing...

As for the phone and text thing, I think that we can all make a contribution by committing to avoid use of phones, text, hands-free and the like, as well as to discourage others from the practice. I think that direct social pressure is the most effective means to lowering the death count.
