Already plan on being there !!

Amateur astronomer here, plus the rarity of this type and location make it a family field trip.
Luckily not far from Indiana either. We'll literally be checking weather forecasts for locating
a decent vantage if necessary.

That's my only worry. It's basically going over my house but we'll drive down to the very center of it's path so we can get the longest view of it.

Closer to the date we'll watch the weather and may fire up the motorhome if needed. I'm sure not going to miss it if there's anywhere I can see it without cloud cover. I just hope for a clear sky. I will be very cool! I don't think most people understand the show we're going to get to see! I planing to go up on the mountain so maybe we can see the black dot coming at us.

What sucks for me is that my wife is a teacher, and that date will probably be the first day of school...

...otherwise, I'd be making my reservations right now for Jackson, WY or Idaho Falls - although Jackson would definitely be preferable! I've never seen a total eclipse, and it's something I'd love to do before I'm pushin' up daisies!

Thanks Toney,
Pavillion, WY is only about 50 mile drive North of Lander. Ocean Lake is about 5 miles South-East of P-vill.
Shouldn't be any street lights coming on at the lake shore, much less the middle of the lake, to spoil the show.

acidman,
Stanley, ID area would be a whole lot darker than Jackson, WY.

Good point! I never thought about street lights coming on. You're going to want to be someplace really dark. I'm planing on being on top of a mountain but was thinking about just driving to a parking lot somewhere. That could be a mistake. I'll rethink that idea!
