Gotta watch this.

Saw it on another forum. Not a KLR, but you'll be glad you saw it. Didn't know what forum to put it in...Trip Reports? Ain't my trip. Anyway:

Loved the story though being a techie I would have liked to know more of the particulars. Tires: he mentioned mud and if those were stock tires that would scare me. Other than that the 250 looked like it hauled a good load and does 2up.

+1 for the BlueBabyNinja250

Yeah, I felt the same way. It looked like he might have had some kind of moderate off road tire on at one point...all muddy...the pictures moved pretty fast, so it was hard to tell. But yeah, I wish there was a Q&A session possible.

I've covetted a 250 Ninja for years, ever since riding one almost 15 years ago.. Problem is, you can't own everything. Although, if I hadn't bought my BMW last fall, chances are pretty high I'd have a Ninja in the garage this winter. Excellent commuter bike, and of course I'd want to do stupid things on it.. 24 hour road rally, to start..

Don't know if I'd ever want to take it to this extreme, but it's posssible..

When Lisa called out the name of the 12th-place rider, the whole room stood for the second time. The plaque went to Leon Begeman on the 250cc Ninja, who rode 11,186 miles in 11 days. It is the kind of effort that will live in the annals of endurance riding forever. I have rarely seen anything to compare to it. Confident to the end, Leon told me, "Now that I've seen what kind of rally Kneebone puts on, I can build a bike to beat it." I've known The Animal for more than ten years and I've learned this: Don't bet him anything you can't afford to lose.

That's Sgt. Marty. What an adventure he's had. I'm hoping to get to hear some of his tales in person at Moab the end of May.

I'd love to make Moab myself. Wonder if I could hook up with someone else coming from out here? But yeah, I've been reading his ride report every night. It will stink when I catch up to his last post and have to wait to see whats happening!

As you noticed Sgt Marty left from Moab after CMC last year. He has such a great attitude it could rain every day and he would still find a way to have a good time.

Has anybody heard from Sgt Marty lately? I didn't know if anybody has seen him post to any forums or received email or anything. He was posting to his ride report every week or two like clockwork but hasn't posted anything since Jan 2nd. I've never spoke to or met the guy but you kind of feel like you know somebody when you "go with them" from Alaska to Argentina!
