Toney,
We can only guess that you are the one that recorded that video?
The fact that you were able to post it tells us that you made it out.

You and your neighbors are in our prayers.

As JJ said, that's a scary video.

Nope,,, It's not my video. Just thought some might be interested and it would help make people aware of the danger of a wildfire.

I had a wildfire at my house three years ago but it was nothing like the Gatlinburg fires. We didn't have the high winds they did. They had 87 MPH gusts. On the day we closed on this house, the back woods was on fire but we had days to be ready for the fire to arrive so the fuel was gone around the house. We removed the fuel with leaf blowers and pressure washers. That fire was coning downhill so it didn't burn very fast.

There's been 50 + fires in Tennessee this year. All we had to deal with this year at my house was smoke. Most of the fires this year in Tennessee were arson.

So far there has been 14 confirmed fatalities and more than 1600 structures damaged or destroyed in the fire.

The best way to help Gatlinburg area is to donate to the Red Cross.

People can make a $10 donation by texting "REDCROSS" to 90999.
