Trading off the KLR!!!

I'm on my 2nd KLR. Had a 09 and now a 2014 1/2. They've been great bikes but riding styles have changed. The current KLR even got road tires last time I changed them. So it's leaving. Feels like I'm taking it to the vet tomorrow. If all works out as agreed to, the KLR is traded in for this:

1000cc Versys
Thought about keeping both but the KLR doesn't see any trails and I miss the power I had on my Goldwings. I don't miss the weight of the Wings. Just the power. May have some KLR stuff to sell. Have to see. Taking some stuff off tomorrow and then loading and going to put it down

That looks like a very 'tastey' ride Toney!
I'll admit, I bleed Lime Green!

Bill10, down in Florida loves both his 1000 Versys and his KLR650, but I can understand lack of space/lack of money/lack of time.

Very nice bike! I always liked the Versys, 650 and 1000. Actually nearly bought one before I got my KLR. My KLR is gone now, and most of my riding on it ended up being on the road, or gravel roads at most. Joint issues helped me convince myself to sell (just wasn't riding it anymore) but I find myself still looking at getting another bike. Probably be something in the sport touring category. Or the baby Versys when it comes out, unless it's priced stupidly as I suspect it will be. I loved my wing as well, but not so much the weight either.
Anyway, congrats on the new bike, sweet looking ride!

I was really hoping the 1,000cc Versys would be a naked parallel twin. The 650 I2 in the lil Versys is a super punchy motor. I'm sure that big I4 is no slouch either.

Congrats on the new bike with awesome storage!

You're gonna make this guy GREEN with envy.

Wow Toney, she's a beauty. I looked into getting a new BMW F800 GS Adventure a bit ago, but I don't need fast and I want reliable, so I decided to keep my KLR and just put some money into it. So glad that I did. No extra motorcycle payment, and the KLR does everything I need it to. I've also heard that servicing the BMW is very pricey, and I can do everything on the KLR myself. I may change my mind when my hip finally is ready for a replacement, but so far so good.

Congratulations on your new bike.

Done deal. Man it's fast!!!! You don't work for the wheelie, it comes free!

I think even though the KLR is gone I'll keep an eye on you clowns from time to time if that's ok.

LOL!!!
I just hope the guys on the Versys 1000 are half as nice as the guys are here. This forum has been great and I've always enjoyed visiting it.

That forum is four times bigger than this one, but I'm sure they are good people.

It's run by Motorcycle.com, too, so I'm sure it will be pretty professionally maintained.

Enjoy yourself over there, enjoy your new bike, and don't forget us clapped out KLR riders over here!
